Day Boarding

We offer a Day Stay for only $20.

The pets will be taken outside multiple times throughout the day, will have access to water and food (as requested) and can have any beds, toys, blankets or treats that are brought in with them.

For your dog’s health and safety, we supply all food and water dishes for us to properly clean and sanitize them each day.

Need to be away for the day? Pets can be dropped off and picked up on the same day anytime within our lobby hours.”

What should you bring?

  • Your pup’s food – maintaining their regular diets helps avoid digestions issues
    • We recommend bringing a little extra food since they will be playing more than normal and burning additional calories
    • The food must be in an enclosed container (Ziplock bag, tote, ice cream buckets, trash cans, etc.)
    • If you do not bring food, we can feed them, however, it will be a $2.50 fee per day.
  • Medications with written instructions (if needed)
    • We have a refrigerator/freezer onsite for medication and food that must be chilled.
    • Administering medication, daily chews, etc., will also result in a $2 fee per day.
    • If your pet needs medication administered through a shot, there will be a fee of $4 per day.
  • Collar with ID tags (for identification purposes)
  • Comfort items (if needed), such as a blanket, stuffed animal or chew toy
    • Items must be machine washable.
    • If your dog is known to destroy bedding or toys, please refrain from bringing these items to avoid ingestion of these materials.
  • Veterinary records
    • If we do not have your most up-to-date vaccination records, Iowa law requires you to provide us with your pet’s vaccination records for Bordetella, Parvo and Rabies, and Distemper. These records must have your pet’s information, as well as the veterinary information.

What should you expect after boarding?

  • While your dog had access to unlimited water in their suite, they may seem thirsty upon returning home. This is a common reaction to the excitement of being back home with their family.
    • Please withhold water for at least 30 minutes or when they have calmed down. Continue to monitor their water intake, as dogs that drink too much water too quickly may vomit or, in serious cases, could bloat.
  • We also recommend waiting at least 3 hours from the time you arrive home to feed your pet. Similar to too much water intake, eating too quickly can cause your pet to get sick.

HOLIDAY & PEAK SEASON DOG BOARDING INFORMATION

There’s a 2-night minimum stay, and a 50% deposit of the total stay cost is required to make a boarding reservation during peak season. To provide the best care possible, we must carefully manage the number of dogs in our program. This helps ensure space remains available for dogs that truly need us while allowing us to maintain a high standard of care for every dog we support.

PEAK SEASON & HOLIDAY PERIODS

  • Easter: April 3 – 6
  • Memorial Day: May 23 – 26
  • 4th of July: July 3 – 6
  • Labor Day: August 29 – September 1
  • Thanksgiving: November 26 – 30
  • Christmas/ New Year’s: December 22 – January 2

HOLIDAY & PEAK SEASON DOG BOARDING CANCELLATION POLICY

We strive to be as flexible as possible and will gladly accommodate changes whenever we can. However, last-minute cancellations, changes, and no-shows can prevent us from filling available rooms and may result in us turning away customers who would have gladly reserved that space. They also make it difficult for us to schedule the appropriate number of staff to care for every pet properly. We truly appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to provide the best possible experience for you and your pets.

If you need to cancel a reservation over a holiday or holiday weekend, you must do so during business hours at least 7 days before your check-in date to avoid a 50% deposit cancellation fee at the rate of the room reserved. Failure to call and cancel within this time frame will result in a charge on your account for a forfeited deposit.

Deposits can be taken from our office or via manual entry of a card over the phone.

Please note: Early pick-ups, at any time, may result in your full scheduled boarding stay being charged.

Food & Medication Fee

If you choose not to bring food from home for your pet, we can supply the food for $2 per day. Administering medication, daily chews, etc., will also result in a $2 fee per day. If your pet needs medication administered through a shot, there will be a fee of $4 per day.
